After a three or so year hiatus in traveling, we are about to head out once again for, by U.S. standards a lengthy vacation, or as our "old world" friends refer to it and "a holiday." In these last hours things are indeed frantic; instead of traveling durning the quieter months of late fall this time we leave house and home, work and duty in mid summer. And even though as Mary has pointed out many time "the calendar may say it's summer but cool wet weather of this year tells a much different story" projects at work are in full swing and the yard grows unruly in a hour so there is much to do before we embark for a land of scoured vistas, springbok, elephant and diamonds.
Right after asking where Namibia is many people have asked why? Well funny story that and perhaps all will be revealed as the month grows long. For now lets say our journey to the south of Africa is in part to fulfill a wish or two, or three?
As many of you know we sometimes find ourselves in places that aren't as well "wired" as at home. That condition is certainly becoming less and less true (after all, we did have better internet service than here, in the back reaches of northern Laos even while hot water was harder to find). Regardless, when and if we are able to post a snippet of a tale we will do so. Perhaps than the whys, where and wishes will be revealed.
You kids be safe now! Keep us in the *1st World* apprised of your adventures...
Given the current Economic Collapse... Who knows, by the time you get back it may be like you never left Kwando River :)
